550 Far East Prisoners of war transported aboard the Japanese hellship the Suez Maru.

En route from Ambon to Java, the submarine USS Bonefish fired four torpedoes, sinking the ship in twenty minutes.

250 – 380 prisoners survived in the sea for c.eight hours then machine-gunned by the Japanese while awaiting rescue.
